Cestoda Parasitis

**THIS GAME IS INTENDED FOR MATURE AUDIENCES DUE TO THE GRAPHIC NATURE AND MATURE THEMES. IT IS SFW BUT IS STILL DISTURBING TO SOME**

Can you survive a mutant infested landscape with the help of three other unique characters? Tensions rise when anyone can be infected just under the surface. Hunt, fish, farm, and fight your way to survival, and keep an eye for suspicious activity from your fellow survivors.

Cestoda Parasitis is a RPG game with heavy horror elements focusing on Transformation, Infestation, Mutation, and most of all Insectoid Parasites.

This game features a fully functioning fishing minigame, hunting wild animals (Not included yet), farming, friendship dynamics that have a real effect in and out of battles. It has many lovingly animated skills, cutscenes and sprites.

As of present there is only one option for who is infected, however a near plan for the future is for any one of the three supporting characters to be able to be infected, it is up to you to use deduction to tell who may not be who they seem and be careful who you bring with you on your journey; for they may be watching you and getting stronger along with you.

Discover interesting secrets and interact with a lively cast of supporting and background characters. Explore the land that is ravaged by skittering nightmares.

There seems to be confusion on what makes this “Transformation Content,” and it’s hard to explain without getting into spoilers. Let’s just say there’s secrets, some well kept and some not. There’s also horrible mutants created by the body invaders, they don’t just turn you into zombies, they turn you into bugs. If you get to the end-game, you’ll see it first hand! Outside of that there is an important character with a “dark secret” that is fully animated if you find it out. Just go looking and don’t be afraid to upset a few character by pushing their boundaries.

Forecasted plans (** WARNING CONTAINS SPOILERS **):

  • Second forms for final bosses
  • Jay and Pazu infections
  • More background characters
  • Hunting minigame
  • Cooking with Pazu minigame
  • Romancing (Possibly fadeout screen *wink*)
  • More skills and rebalancing to combat

the game has very good music btw. I quite like the final boss theme for the demo, for example.

Thanks! A lot of the music used is by Peritune, their royalty free music goes so hard it's amazing.

I am also curious, will we learn the backstory of our main character, Trevor? like how long have they been a vampire for? when did they become one? stuff like that.

Good question! That could be fun to delve into, I'll have to figure out what would lead into more character lore especially about Trevor.

well your vampirism being revealed to the crew something that was used as an empty threat, if you reveal a secret, though it probably wouldn't change anything considering I feel like it isn't too hard to notice how pale trevor is, and how he attacks with bats, and stuff like that. clearly jay knows, considering he sells blood to trevor when they first meet, and pazu would be able to figure it out due to being a lie detector basically. and morrigan brought you onto the ship and kicking you out would make it look like he made a mistake, and he seems like a prideful sort, and one who doesn't like to admit his mistakes easily. anyways, perhaps that threat could be made good on, to which none of the characters would particularly care, but could prompt trevor to talk about their past? just an idea.

Oh yeah, I could eventually make a custcene where if you're low enough friendship with Morrigan he goes to the others and spills the beans only for Jay to be like "Well, yes, anyone with eyes can tell you, dear Trevor is a far cry from human." and Pazu would just be like "Oh yes, Mr.Whale, how astute." XD Morrigan is the prideful sort so the "empty threat" sounds harsh coming from him but really doesn't scare Trevor in the slightest haha.

Hey where can I save in the game so far? i've been playing the first day so far, and the only save i've gotten is the one when you first get on the ship. is it only at the start of every day? or what?

Sadly this game plays a bit like harvest moon/stardew/etc where saving is only available at the end of the day, however I'll be shortening the requirement for day one so you can turn in earlier. Sorry that day one is such a slog! Rest assured it'll be better soon!

oh no, it was just that there were some decisions there i wanted to save for. just let us know in the game that you save at the end of each day, and that'll be enough.

Good idea, I'll make one of them warn you about it. I try to avoid characters breaking immersion by mentioning mechanics but I might have the screen go dark like the fishing minigame to explain (saving happens at the end of every day)

Morrigan became my favorite off design alone! Game is simple but fun and I'm looking forward to the story ahead!  Great work as always

Mostly Curious, got any bad ends in mind at all aside from just an assimilated screen? Had a lot of fun finding the different things in the cattle castle games!

Definitely gonna expand on the story way more! I also plan on having dialogue branch out based on who's infected and also be influenced by how much a character likes you.
I'm really glad Morrigan is getting fans through this! I've been cooking him as a character for over a year.

I might expand on the Assimilated screen as well. There's a bad end where Morrigan kills you for messing with his treasure too much but that's just gonna be like "ouch your hands were cut off" which isn't so fun. I may toy with something to do with Morrigan's curse since fans seem intrigued by it. Possibly some bug related stuff with either infected NPC's or even the player character (get "infested" status too much, maybe you start to get bug powers or change a little. Dunno the direction I wanna go yet).
The final boss is actually a midboss for the whole game (assuming I don't shelve this project lol), and has a planned "evolution" which may either happen midway through the battle, or maybe have them come back later and "shed their human form" and become something more horrifying and bug-like.

**Spoilers below:**

Obviously Morrigan's appearance aside from the obvious being a pretty-boy pirate is inspired by Isana from Oumagadoki Zoo and more specifically Isana's ability to turn into a sperm whale, as such Morrigan has a big paddle-like tail he uses to smack enemies around and uses clicks to stun foes. Additionally when he becomes a bug his appearance is inspired by several bugs but mainly a termite queen, mosquito and spider. I hope to make more animations for him as well as for the others, since the full game will have either Morrigan, Pazu or Dr.Jay able to be infected by random chance at the beginning. Which sadly in the full game means that the character will be locked after a certain point in story.  Saying bye to the heavy hitter: Morrigan, the healer: jay or the one with fire/and parasite resist: Pazu. Along with their unique bonuses: Morrigan gives you price discounts, Pazu lets you cook (not implemented yet), and Dr.Jay helps you farm.
Ah well. I saw you joined the server, if you have any questions about the game or characters or even any other of my games feel free to ask!

It's got potential but it seems very buggy and broken with a few things. Like for me, whenever I talk to captain morrigan about fishing, it won't let me move, or do anything. Then i can't really do anything like end the day or conclude exploration and so on.

I'll try it again if you update the game, it does look like it has potential. Personally, I was expecting a more...'lewd' transformation, than just...worms and spikes coming out of peoples faces. But that's a personal issue, it did not detract from the story or fighting.

I guess I'm a bit spoiled since I played so much of Grove and other games like that. Either way, hope the coding is going smoothly

I def recommend my other games for more lewd tf, though they center around anthro and feral cows.

Oh also there’s a werebeast transformation in this too, just have to find it~~ 😉

this seems to be a common issue but it’s not a bug: you have to click directly on the fish. I’ll have to have the game prompt you out of character to do that since I hate NPC’s breaking the fourth wall to explain mechanics. 😅

Ooh. Gotta check this out. Intriguing to find out about that Vappy-like fellow.

Very neat little game, and loved the fun matter in the belly of the beast.

Just minor thing I wanted is if it was possible to have those window pots next to the tree not be obstructive? its so easy to think they arent and go down and then realize they arent. Minor frustration.

Hey, i beta tested this game :]

Tf Game Jam 2024!!!

Heck yea! its about time!!
